Ariadne is seeking a Project Manager to support enterprise IT systems at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work with team stakeholders to define clear set of project objectives and requirements
  • Document requirements in project plans/charters which should be updated to reflect changes in requirements
  • Lead all activities of the development life cycle. Prioritize requirements and define scope to meet market needs in a timely manner given available resources.
  • Devise clear communication plan with all stakeholders and the team. Manage client relationships including senior level coordination providing status updates per discussed communication plan.
  • Develop capacity planning.
  • Support and Coach team members to implement and follow Agile best practices.
  • Partner with client operations to identify areas in need of improvement to increase client satisfaction and decrease support requests.
  • Devise clear risk mitigation strategy.
  • Adjust scope and resource estimation at project inception, tracking progress and planning, re-planning and adjusting course based on both realities of team velocity and potential changes in user needs over the course of the project.
  • Assume responsibility and drive ownership for issue resolution.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute (as appropriate) standard project management deliverables for the successful launch of new products and services, including: implementation plan, project schedule, documentation pertaining to code repository, bug tracking, change requests, information architecture / metadata, project budget and variances, issues & action items log, meeting minutes, risks assessment and mitigation strategies. Execute, oversee, and update/maintain project documents.
  • Apply a full range of program management strategies, philosophies, policies, and procedures to perform agile applications development and IT operational management activities.
  • Provide metrics and status to senior management.
  • Lead all activities necessary for release scheduling.
  • Work closely with the Technical Development team to identify and communicate critical paths.
  • Participate in reviewing QA and leading End User Acceptance Test (UAT) plans.
  • Manage multiple projects.
  • Apply knowledge of Federal government planning, programming, and budgeting as well as resource planning and execution processes, to support customer program planning, decision briefings, and progress assessment.
  • Keep abreast of changes in IT policies both internally and externally and research ways to address these changes.
  • Interact with other team members to enable cross fertilization of ideas/solutions across projects.
  • Monitor new technologies for possible use in development of product as well as for improved project management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required; Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred.
  • PMP certificate.
  • 5+ years as a technical project manager or/and development team lead.
  • 3+ years utilizing agile development methodologies.
  • Successful track record in delivering project results to meet business requirements.
  • Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to think analytically and independently.
  • Confident and professional manner when dealing with peers and organizational personnel at all levels.
  • Able to effectively communicate complex topics and procedures with team members and all other organizational personnel.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CSM (Certified SCRUM Master) certification or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience as a scrum master.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of technical implementations of large scale, highly available, robust web/mobile applications.
  • Experience in a scientific research and development (R&D) environment with demonstrated ability to analyze problems and propose multiple solutions.
